Adam Stepan is an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker, and the Director of the Digital Education Group at Columbia University in New York. Adam lived and worked for 15 years in Brazil, producing from Latin America for Discovery Channel, National Geographic, PBS, and BBC, and has overseen digital case study production in Brazil, Peru, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ghana, DRC, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, and other locations. His films have been shown at international film festivals in North America, Latin America, and Europe. Adam holds a B.A. from Brown University, and a Ph.D. from King’s College London, and is thrilled to be a new partner of the Open Society University Network in this new class and other related projects. Kyrgyz filmmaker Nurzhamal Karamoldoeva works as an Executive Director at the Center for Civic Engagement of the American University in Central Asia (AUCA CCE) that oversees different civic engagement projects initiated by students and faculty. She teaches at two departments of AUCA: TV, Film, and Media Arts (TCMA) and Journalism and Mass Media (JMC) as well as TSI College of AUCA. Nurzhamal shoots both fiction and documentary films as well as social videos for the NGOs. Her recent documentary films “Oasis” (2019) on the local environmental issues and “Medrese” (2021) on religious education in Kyrgyzstan were shot with the participation of students. Dina Hossain is an award-winning filmmaker, with over 20 years of experience making documentaries for television broadcasts and independent markets. She currently works with international and national NGOs in Bangladesh making advocacy videos focused on issues of gender, the environment, and human rights. Dina began her filmmaking career in the USA at PBS. She has also co-produced films for New York Times Television, BBC, Discovery, PBS Frontline, and ABC News Nightline.

Her work has taken her around the world to Afghanistan, India, Iran, Nigeria, Kenya, Malaysia, the US, and all around Bangladesh. Dina holds a Master of Arts from New York University in Visual Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in Public Policy. Julia Titova is a film director and artist, who now lives and works in Lithuania, Vilnius. Julia has a MA from the Belarusian Academy of Arts. She currently teaches filmmaking, motion design, and animation basics at the European Humanities University. Prior to joining EHU, she worked as a film director and animation film artist. Her films have been shown at major international animation film festivals in Europe. She has written and directed films such as "GoldenEagle", the award-winning “Sergei Prokofiev”, and the animated film “The Fourth Orange”. Seamus Heady is a social impact documentary filmmaker focusing on the intersection of human rights and film. Through his work, Seamus has inspected sociopolitical issues including but not limited to prison reform, educational reform, and equal representation in media. As OSUN’s Digital Media Specialist, Seamus aims to amplify student voices and collaborate to advocate for a just, equitable, and sustainable global future.
